Kingsbarns Distillery & Visitor Centre

Conveniently located between St Andrews and Crail, the Kingsbarns Distillery and Visitor Centre sits in a charming 18th century farm steading and features an exhibition, distillery tours, whisky tastings, shop and cafe.  Open 7 days a week. 

Opening hours

April to September: 10am to 6pm

First tour: 10.30am. Last tour 4.30pm.

October to March: 10am to 5pm

First tour: 10.30am. Last tour 3.30pm.

 The Kingsbarns Story- "From Dream to Dram"

Visit the exhibition and explore the history behind the name Kingsbarns and the Kingdom of Fife.  Enjoy a short film exploring the local area in the context of the whisky year.  See how the ruined farm steading was transformed into a distillery and visitor centre and enter the 18th century doocot to see the first cask of whisky maturing.  Test your sense of smell by identifying the common whisky aromas intriguingly presented in cow horns. 

 

Distillery Tours

Kingsbarns Tour- £8.00

Start your visit in our exhibition, exploring the history of the name Kingsbarns and by watching the film which explores the local 

area in the context of the whisky year.  You can watch the story of the renovation of the East Newhall Farm steading unfold before seeing their first cask filled at the distillery nestling inside the doocot.  Test your sense of smell by identifying the common whisky aromas intriguingly presented in cow horns.  Your friendly guide will explain the Kingsbarns distillation methods inside the distillery and then take you into one of the tasting rooms for an introductory taste of some of their whiskies. 

 

Doocot Tour- £20.00

Start your visit in their exhibition, exploring the history of the name Kingsbarns and by watching the film which explores the local area in the context of the whisky year.  You can watch the story of the renovation of East Newhall farm steading unfold before seeing our first cask filled at the distillery nestling inside the doocot.  Test your sense of smell by identifying the common whisky aromas intriguingly presented in cow horns.  Your friendly guide will explain the Kingsbarns distillation methods inside the distillery and then take you into one of their tasting rooms for a tutored tasting across a selection of our whiskies. 

Ticket price includes £5 voucher redeemable in the shop against 70cl bottle of whisky.

 

Dream to Dram Tour- £50.00

Start your visit with a complementary hot drink in the cafe, before being shown into the exhibition space which explores the history behind the name 'Kingsbarns;. Watch their film which explores the local area in the context of the whisky year. See the story of the renovation of East Newhall Farm steading unfold before stepping in to the Doocot where the first cask filled at the distillery sits.  Test your sense of smell by identifying the common whisky aromas intriguingly presented in cow horns.  Your guide will explain the Kingsbarns distillation methods inside the distillery and then take you into one of their tasting rooms for a full tutored tasting across a selection of Wemyss Malts whiskies.  

Ticket price includes a Kingsbarns Glencairn whisky glass and a £5 voucher redeemable in the shop against 70cl bottle of whisky.

Wheelchair access to all areas except the inside of the doocot and the final area of distillery tour. Lifts in distillery building and to tasting rooms.
