Playfair's Restaurant is one of the longest established restaurants in St Andrews and continues to offer great value for high end casual dining. Head Chef, Duncan McLachlan, christened the kitchen and front of house teams ‘Playfair’s Army’ which pretty much sums us up: united, and passionate. Playfair’s is a family run business and forms part of the Ardgowan Hotel which is located just above the restaurant. We take pride in looking after our guests and offering dishes you’ll want to come back and try again!
All the Playfair's Restaurant menus are prepared fresh, with ingredients from local independent suppliers wherever possible.
Playfair's offers a range of menus with a modern Scottish twist.
Menus changes seasonally in order to celebrate the very best in local produce, and includes everything from chargrilled Scottish steaks to Shetland landed plaice, as well as more exotic specials such as loin of venison with chocolate oil. For special wee guests there is also an exciting children's menu, again prepared with the freshest ingredients.
