Journeys End
The Byre Theatre - AB Paterson Auditorium
Produced By The Original Theatre Company, Icarus Theatre
Collective, Anvil Arts And In Association With South Hill Park
Arts Centre
The young, talented and war-weary Captain Stanhope is confronted
with the fresh face of his past as an old schoolmate joins his
platoon. As the offensive looms ever closer, Stanhope must
inspire his men to make the ultimate sacrifice for a war he no
longer understands and for a cause he no longer remembers.
This compelling play based on R. C. Sherriff's own experience in
the trenches with its heroism, humour and inevitable tragedy
shows humour and courage in the face of certain tragedy.
All staged within Stanhope’s claustrophobic dugout, time creeps
to a standstill as soldiers await their orders before racing to
its heart wrenching climax as these young men face their
‘Journey’s End’. Ticket Prices: £14 (£12/£10/£8 schools)

Dorset whose distinctive and exuberant music moves from the
thought-provoking to the shamelessly foot-tapping. Described as

and a full-bodied melodic musical assault’ (R2 Rock n Reel),

A trip to the
wonderland of gravity for very small children Falling is easy.
Flying is hard.
Can a house, a chair or a human being fly? Using pictures,
words and movement, 2 clownish performers explore falling and
flying, lightness and heaviness in a beautifully poetic form of
physical theatre. An egg dreams of flying. Can an egg
fly? Why do feathers gently float to the ground while a little
bag of sand falls down quickly? We go up, we come down - but in
this performance nothing is what we think it is and we discover
anything is possible, even flying! £8 (£6/£5)
