Noel Coward’s Blithe Spirit

from: Tue  11 Nov  2014 until: Sat 15 Nov  2014

from 11th to 15th November.

The play is set in the 1930’s in the house belonging to Charles Condomine and Ruth Condomine. Charles is conducting research for a book and invites local eccentric medium, Madam Arcati, to conduct a séance, along with their friends Dr and Mrs Bradman.

Charles expects to learn some of the ‘tricks of the trade’ but unfortunately Madam Arcati manages to materialise the ghost of Charles’ first wife, Elvira, who died seven years previously. Only Charles can see and hear Elvira (who drifts mischievously round the room) and thus the scene is set for this delightfully improbable farce.

Noel Coward wrote the part of Charles for himself and therefore the play is sprinkled with elegance, wit and several martinis, served by the maid Edith.

Come along any evening at 7.30pm between the 11th and the 15th of November or at 2.30pm for the Saturday matinee.

Tickets are on sale at the Byre Theatre Box Office between 10am and 4.30pm or from members of the Play Club.
