The Playfair's Restaurant & Bar is on the ground floor of the Ardgowan Hotel. The hotel comprises two adjoining Georgian Houses of architectural note designed by the famous Scottish Architect Sir William Playfair.

Playfair's Restaurant & Bar with outside seated Terrace is renowned for its Scottish cuisine using locally sourced, fresh Scottish produce, light lunches, coffee, snacks and dinner.

The Playfair Restaurant's desserts are made in-house to their own recipes. The restaurant is open for coffees, snacks, light lunches, dinner or a cool refreshing drink. The only item they buy in is the  ice cream made by a British award winning local firm called 'Luvians' to compliment their home-made desserts.
