The Anstruther Fish Bar and Restaurant is somewhere very special! It has received numerous awards and accolades over the years for the quality of its sea food. It is owned by a local fishing family which can trace their fishermen connections from father to son as far back as the late 1600s.

The family also owns their own fish processing business, Argofish, producing fresh, hand-filleted haddock to fish and chip shops and retail outlets in East and Central Scotland. This means they are supplying their own prime Scottish seafood directly from the local quayside each day to their Anstruther Fish Bar, thereby ensuring only the very best pieces are served in the Anstruther Fish Bar and Restaurant.

Anstruther Fish Bar is a true family business in every sense of the word, as mother, father and the three sons, are all completely 'hands-on'. From the daily purchasing and processing of fresh local seafood, right through to the frying and serving, every member of the family is passionately involved at some stage or other in the whole supply process of 'net to plate'.

When visiting the Anstruther Fish Bar you will also see fishing films from the 1950s to the present day depicting genuine footage of life at sea from the 1950s to present day on their families fishing boat.  These films have proved to be popular with visitors giving them a valuable insight into the families fishing heritage and the Scottish Fishing Industry in the seas surrounding Scotland.

The Anstruther Fish Bar is located on the attractive harbour front in Anstruther, you can purchase takeaway fish and chips or sit in. Literally thousands of people visit each year, if the weather is fine, many people will make use of the seating area opposite the fish bar while listening to the sounds of the sea and watching the local creel boat fishermen landing their daily catch of crab and lobster.
