The Inn at Lathones - St Andrews Oldest Coaching Inn

Lathones-court-yard.jpgThe Inn at Lathones is a 4 star Inn, 15 minutes drive from St Andrews in Fife, on the east coast of Scotland. Well known for its award winning food, awarded 2 AA rosettes for the 13th consecutive year along with VisitScotland's Gold award for service quality 2009/10 & 11.

The Inn goes back over 400 years. The Stables, being the oldest part, is today a bar, where The Grey Lady (resident friendly ghost) and her horse reside. The front house was built in the late 17th century and is watched over by a wedding stone placed above the fire place as its lintel.

21 beautiful modern bedrooms, including two suites and 6 luxury bedrooms, the "Smithy's and Coachman's bedrooms" dating back to circa 1850, these rooms are located in the converted old blacksmith's house and forge - hence the name. They have new larger bathrooms with a modern design and Italian furniture, all the comfort you would expect from a 4 star Inn.Lathones-fire.jpg

The Inn at Lathones opened the "Old Forge" in July 2007 this comprises six deluxe bedrooms with large bathrooms, and two suites on the 1st floor. This design allows groups of friends to take one suite and 3 deluxe bedrooms as  their own private area with their own lounge and bar area to meet in.
